Yes, the site was very busy over the weekend as well, it slowed right down to a halt.  It also depends on which browser you use when you go in.  My IE drops dead after the first few minutes, but it has been doing that for a couple of years.  Now with the surfeit of advertising, IE handles even worse.  I'm not sure how this new business model is going to help PB, with all us little guys leaving once we have taken back all the images we want to keep.  Their advertiser sure won't be seeing the traffic they once saw.

And keep your fingers crossed that Imgur isn't bought out by You Know Who.
Thank you paintnut2 and FLCruise7 for my pretty siggies!

My tinypic seems finally to have gone toes up, so I tried Imgur.  The only problem I had was finding out how to upload and I worked that out as evidenced by my hot shot post.  Thanks for the recommendation.

Hey, everyone!  I realize this thread is a bit old, but I haven't been on is quite some time, due to some unforeseen circumstances.

I haven't been on PB in some time.  Did they even send an email about this?  Reason is, if they did, I didn't receive it.  Guess I'll have to go check my account out.....

No, suebird, there was no warning whatsoever.  If you have a free PB account there are now very very many ads.  Many people are finding that they can no longer copy and paste their links, and any postings they have made now have an ugly pic from PB in the place of their posted pics.
Thank you paintnut2 and FLCruise7 for my pretty siggies!

No advance warning that it was coming, but I sure got a bunch of emails when it happened - they all said something along the lines of "You're in violation of using PB images on hosting sites" - or words to that effect.  Of course, if I wanted to pay them a lot I can continue to use PB.

I, on the other hand, have never received an email like that.  In the PB account that they still have not "attacked", which still costs me a couple of dollars a month, I receive a popup weekly encouraging me to upgrade.  With the free account that I share with others, I have never received any emails whatsoever regarding this issue, either before or after the "attack".  With the second account, I still receive an email every so often requesting that I purchase prints, etc.  Oh well, PB, that will not be happening.
Thank you paintnut2 and FLCruise7 for my pretty siggies!
