- Hello Everyone,
PogoAddiction primarily operates on donations made by you the members. We never expect or request them, however donations go a LONGGGGGGG way to helping PogoAddiction.
In 2009, the mere hosting costs of PogoAddiction ran approximately $650 dollars. This is the minimum that it takes to just keep PogoAddiction up and running. This cost is expected to increase, as the membership and information on PogoAddiction grows, as the increase in each requires more hosting space and bandwidth. The next hosting package would cost PogoAddiction roughly $850 dollars. As you can see it is not a meager amount to run a site like this, on top of all of the personal time that is donated by the staff to bring entertainment to PogoAddiction.
In addition to that, from the donation pool, for contests and various things, we have spent additional funds. Such as for To Go games, Premium albums, gift cards and more. Additional funds go to having custom made features created, such as the PA Badge System and Ranks Tracker. Each of these were additional expenses and require periodic updates and tweaks.
These figures do NOT include what the staff members sometimes give out of pocket for their contests. Donations are saved to pay for hosting costs, and the rest is then used for the annual PA Birthday Bash.
I try to be as open as possible about things that go on at PogoAddiction, so if you ever have a question feel free to ask, and I will do my best to provide answers.
If as little as 2% of PogoAddiction members would donate just $1 per year, that would more than cover expenses and even allow us to add features that do cost money, as opposed to what we can just find for free.
Donations are optional, as always, but I wanted to be sure to show that donations are used in one way or another to improve and keep PA up and running.

For members that collect PA Forum Badges, remember, that a donation as small as $10, earns you a Special Edition PA Badge. The next is reached at $25 and the final at $100. Yes we have had members donate well in excess of $100, and we greatly appreciate it. Donations for those badges do not need to be made all at once. You can do $5 dollars here and there until you qualify. Simply send me a PM and I will look into my history and award it to you if you qualify.
